Goliath was just the first of many giants killed that David and his men killed. See: http://bible.us/1Chr20.6.NLT In another battle with the Philistines at Gath, they encountered a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in all, who was also a descendant of the giants. But when he defied and taunted Israel, he was killed by Jonathan, the son of David's brother Shimea. These Philistines were descendants of the giants of Gath, but David and his warriors killed them.
That is actually profound. Giants today represent personal obstacles that we face that have overwhelming circumstances. David was a giant killer. Jesus was called the son of David (son of man and son of God as well). He won every battle as well. You could say that Jesus walked in David's footsteps but the opposite is true. The anointing of David is once again on God's people as we take on the Giants of Anti-Christ kingdom in the last days shake out of light vs darkness. All of this is recorded in advance in the book of Revelation.
